“Healing Touch came into my life at the perfect time, says Anne. '“I had recently retired from many years of teaching, had recovered from two types of breast cancer, and was looking for a way to be of service in our community. When I learned about Healing Touch, I knew immediately that I was ‘home.’”

A lifetime of experiences (teaching, spiritual questing, writing, interest in technology) were a great fit for her work with HPCC. Years of teaching had taught her to really listen to what was happening below the surface, to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members and to be curious about new teaching techniques. “I loved seeing ‘the light go on’ and being part of ‘aha’ moments. All of this lends itself to my work with clients and our volunteers.” Whether speaking to potential HPCC clients on the phone, organizing staff meetings, leading monthly zoom meditations, or partnering with her clients, she’s where she should be.

Outside of Healing Touch, she is a grandma, a writer, a budding watercolorist, a nature lover, a wife, a parent to her wonderful adult sons and daughter. She loves a great book, standing under the stars at night and listening to the jays and red-tailed hawks call “hello” as they fly by. “Mostly, though, I am deeply grateful for the gifts I have been given and the opportunities to say ‘thank you’ by doing this work.”
