Healing Partners of the Central Coast (HPCC) is a nonprofit organization that offers cancer patients free weekly Healing Touch (HT) sessions for a period of two months.

Facing many medical consultations, tests, and tough treatment regimens, cancer patients often seek services that can provide support, relieve stress, and promote healing. HT is a scientifically proven, integrative energy therapy that uses the body’s energy field to promote wellness. HT can offset the side effects of radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery and can reduce fatigue, anxiety, stress, appetite loss, pain, and lymphedema.

Research studies confirm the positive effects of HT to diminish the side effects of cancer treatment and enhance the body’s innate capacity for healing and recovery.

Since 2012, HPCC has provided over 8,800 HT sessions FREE to cancer patients and their caregivers! HPCC has over 35 highly trained HT Providers with amazing hearts and generous souls. Many of our Providers first came to HPCC as HT Recipients while undergoing cancer treatment themselves. Knowing firsthand how crucial HT can be, they chose to train in Healing Touch to share this gift with others.

How Our Program Works

• While some recipients self refer to HPCC, many recipients join our program based on a referral — from a doctor, family member, or friend. HT Recipients are required to be under the care of a physician in order to be included in the HPCC program.

• HPCC’s Pairing Coordinator connects with Recipients by phone to learn more about their needs, explain more about HPCC’s Healing Touch program, and develop an understanding of their diagnosis and treatment plan.

• Recipients are then paired with one of our highly trained Providers at a time and day that best meets the Recipient’s availability, situation, and treatment plan.

• Free Healing Touch sessions are scheduled with the same Provider. Typically these sessions are for one-hour each week over the course of eight weeks. For convenience, sessions are held at the same location, on the same day of the week, at the same time of day. Multiple locations are available across the Central Coast for ease of access and convenience. Currently, HPCC provides HT services in Monterey, Pacific Grove, Seaside, Carmel, Carmel Valley, and Salinas.

• Over ninety-five percent of HPCC Recipients report significant positive benefits from their HT sessions.
