Debra Saxton
Debra has worn many
career hats — none of
them as satisfying as her participation with
Healing Partners
of the Central Coast.
Debra Saxton
President/Executive Director — Founding Director, Director through 12/2021
Debra became active in the Healing Partners Program in 2015 when it was under the auspices of Stanford and the volunteer work fueled her soul. When the Bay Area program expanded enough and it was time for the Central Coast to establish their own program, Debra was one of the founding Board members. In the beginning, she also served as Chief Operations Officer, helping to establish the foundations and systems of the organization. In 2022, she took on the role of Executive Director.
Prior to HPCC, served as Director of Operations for National Geographic School Publishing. Other hats she has worn include magazine writer, graphic design, and newspaper publishing.
Debra says, though she has worn many career hats, none of them has been as satisfying as her participation with this organization. “I am committed to seeing HPCC succeed and expand and for our services to be available for many years to come.” She also supports the organization by coordinating all of the Healing Touch classes that are offered on the Central Coast.
Debra lives in Carmel Valley with her husband of over 50 years. They have a son and two granddaughters. She has been active in the community, serving on many Boards and committees (CV Community Center, CV Chamber of Commerce, Carmel Valley Village Master Plan Committee) and was elected to the first Board of the Carmel Valley Recreation and Park District. She was also founder and publisher of the Carmel Valley Sun newspaper. Her joyful pleasures are hiking, snuggling with her two dogs, and star gazing. Her creative pursuits include making wire wrapped jewelry.
